iSS Software updates: CalcSuite, Essentials, & SciCalc

Implicit Software Solutions Inc has made several updates to several of its Windows Mobile products.

iSS SciCalc has been updated to version 3.0.4 and contains a number of minor bug fixes. As a result, Calc Suite has been updated to 5.0.1 and includes the new version of iSS SciCalc.

iSS Essentials also gets the new version of SciCalc but also receives updates to iSS Notepad & iSS Explorer Pro.

iSS Video Poker and GamePack 1 updates

iSS Video Poker has been updated to version 3.5.3 with a recent bug fix to the scoring calculations.

This also means iSS GamePack 1 gets updated to 4.4.2

Implicit Software Solutions Inc updates GamePack1, Logic Squares and Blackjack

Implicit Software Solutions Inc has updated:

iSS GamePack1 to version 4.4.0

iSS Blackjack to version 3.6.0

and iSS Logic Squares to version 4.0.0

iSS Blackjack contains a number of bug fixes and game logic improvement. iSS Logic Squares receives the most attention with a complete re-write. Version 4.0.0 is now compatible will all new Windows Mobile devices including my Palm Treo Pro. It also now includes 5 game modes, more game styles, and more difficult puzzles.

iSS GamePack1 has been updated to include new versions of both Blackjack and Logic Squares.

iSS Essentials Update

It was time for an update to iSS Essentials. This brings it to version 2.0.0.

The updates are:

iSS SciCalc 3.0:

This is the biggest update. Calc Pro 1.0 and SciCalc 2.3 have been merged and will now be known as SciCalc 3.0. This adds constants, unit conversions and graphing along with the easy to use interface of Calc Pro. The Calc Pro name will now be carried on by Panoramic Software which has done an impressive job of improving the look at feel of Calc Pro as well as adding a ton of features.

iSS Notepad 1.1.0:

Fixed the italic font bug
Added Document Info showing the word count, character count and full file name and path

iSS Task Manager 1.1.0:

Added "Smart Shut Down" and "Smart Soft Reset". These two features are almost the same and I've wanted them ever since we released Essentials. If you reset or turn off your device using these options in the menu - Task Manager will try to gracefully close all running applications first. What this means is - you won't lose changes to documents or settings of programs you left open. A much nicer way to reset your phone.

iSS Task Switcher 1.1.0:

I noticed a drawing error on my iMate JAQ3 on the menu. I couldn't reproduce it on any other devices but I thought it was worth fixing anyways.

I also added the above mentioned "Smart Soft Reset" to iSS Task Switcher on the quick launch bar (its the pretty new blue icon).

If you're a user of the software you may be wondering why the last retail release is way back to version 1.0.1.

iSS is aiming to release a major new version (v2) but internally is adding and testing new features incrementally.

New in this version:

Added Calculator Modes - you can now choose between:

• Simple (adding machine style - also known as Chain)
• Algebraic (standard order of operations)
• Direct Algebraic or DAL (allows using function buttons before entering the number)
• RPN (Reverse Polish Notation)
